This system is preferred by most Android users, but researchers from Lancaster University, Northwest University in China, and the University of Bath found out that attackers of phones can unlock the phones with pattern lock within the five attempts that a given before the phone locks, by using video and computer vision algorithm software. The person who has the phone and is trying to unlock it can unlock the phone by "covertly videoing the owner drawing their pattern lock shape to unlock their device, and the attacker can use the software to quickly track the owner's fingertip movements relative to the position of the device." This shows that people need to be more careful with their devices, or even use the originally four-pin-passcode that is present on most devices. Computer science can be used to help someone unlock their phone if they forge their password, or it can help someone else get access into a phone that is not their's.
